China Eastern Airlines was founded in 1988. Headquartered in Shanghai, they own and operate both China Cargo Airlines and China Eastern Airlines.

China Cargo Airlines was established in 1998 and is China’s first all-cargo airline operating dedicated freight services using China Eastern Airlines route structure. It’s main base is Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, with a hub at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, and they provide an extensive domestic network in addition to the international routes that they serve.

China Cargo Airlines together with China Eastern Airlines, operates a fleet of more than 300 aircraft including MD-11 freighters, Boeing B747-400 and the Airbus A300-600. With the increased importance of logistics in the China market, China Cargo continually reviews its fleet plans to cater to increased business needs and to remain relevant to the air transportation industry.

With the significant capacity provided by both China Cargo’s own freighter fleet and China Eastern Airlines bellyhold space, they are able to serve the needs of the forwarding community. From their main hub in Shanghai, China Cargo/China Eastern jointly serves more than 190 destinations and operates a global network covering China, connecting Asia, Europe, America and Oceania.
